4wd "Traction control”:

DRIVEABILITY: 4x4 driveline with viscous coupling, electronic traction control (on the 4 wheels),

ROBUSTNESS: protection plates under engine/gearbox

CROSSING: raise in suspension

SAVINGS: Selectable 4x4 / 4x2 modes (See scheme p.2).

The 4X4 Dangel system, a cost saving system Dangel 4x4 system can adapt to your needs, roads and weather conditions ECO 2WD Mode: the 4x4 driveline is disengaged, thanks to a jaw clutch in the back transfer case. The vehicle works in front wheel drive, as standard 2WD version. This allows to save fuel and tires wear, when 4x4 in not necessary.

AUTO 4WD Mode: In conditions of normal surface grip, the vehicle work in front wheel drive, like the standard 2WD version. If the front axle loses traction, the viscous-coupling unit transfers a part of the available torque to the rear axle. This takes place automatically, without any driver's intervention, smoothly and only when necessary. The vehicle returns to 2WD as soon as the front axle has sufficient traction again.

Warranty & maintenance:
2 years (Unlimited mileage).
Service intervals as per base vehicle.
Oil servicing every 25 000 km / 2 years in normal use.

Advantages
4x4 on demand (Mode selector ON/OFF)
Increased ground clearance
Low CO2 emissions and fuel consumption
Comfort (springs and suspensions)
Automobiles Dangel is a 4x4 specialist
Adaptability/ rough terrain options available
Protections under engine/gearbox - fuel/cerine tanks (option)

2. Vehicles MAN TGE and VOLKSWAGEN CRAFTER

4MOTION all-wheel drive
The optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive distributes the torque between the front and rear axle to all four wheels as needed. This allows the Megavan to maintain optimal contact with the driving surface. The optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive is now fitted with the latest transmission generation. Advantages include further enhancement of vehicle handling and dynamics.

4MOTION all-wheel drive and 7-speed dual clutch gearbox DSG
The Megavan is the only vehicle of its class available with the optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive and 7-speed dual clutch gearbox DSG. Enjoy added driving comfort when navigating mountainous terrain thanks to fully automatic gear changes.

Mechanical Differential Lock
The mechanical differential lock is optionally available for the rear axle together in conjunction with the optional 4MOTION all-wheel drive making starting up in adverse conditions, such as driving off-road, much easier.

Hill Descent Control
This optional system allows you to drive down slopes in a safe, controlled way due to the engine’s ability to govern speed and apply the brakes if necessary. The vehicle’s speed is maintained at a constant crawling pace without the driver having to intervene.

The on-demand all-wheel drive improves the lateral stability and traction of the vehicle especially on unpaved roads or in difficult road conditions, for example in ice and snow.

Improved traction, lateral stability and pulling power.  The on-demand all-wheel drive improves the lateral stability and traction of the vehicle especially on unpaved roads or in difficult road conditions, for example in ice and snow.It can also be useful to engage the all-wheel drive when pulling a trailer, driving uphill, and accelerating. Otherwise the vehicle can be operated with rear-wheel drive. In all-wheel-drive mode, the transfer case sends 35% of the power to the front axle and 65% to the rear axle. Vehicles with on-demand all-wheel drive also have a higher ground clearance and fording depth, and are able to master greater breakover and approach and departure angles – an advantage when driving on unpaved roads or on construction sites. A rocker switch in the cockpit makes it easy to change drive systems while the vehicle is stationary or travelling at a speed of up to 10 km/h. A red lamp in the rocker switch indicates when all-wheel drive is engaged. Sprinter  All-wheel drive on-demand (ZG1) is optionally available for the Sprinter Panel Van and the Sprinter Tourer as well as for the Sprinter Chassis Cab and the Sprinter Platform Truck.

Advantages:

Other features and advantages of the engageable all-wheel drive: - Approx. 110 mm higher vehicle level at the front axle - Approx. 90 mm higher vehicle level at the rear axle - Accordingly greater breakover and approach and departure angle as well as greater fording depth - Modified position of lighting functions due to higher vehicle level - Rear fog lamp integrated into the bumper on the Sprinter Panel Van and Sprinter Tourer, rear fog lamp integrated into the tail lamp is without function - Side front indicators (L44) in place of the indicators in the side mirrors - Hydraulic steering – unlike on vehicles with front and rear-wheel drive, which have electric steering.
